Enthusiasts have launched Steam games on PlayStation 5

Enthusiasts have developed a program called Playden that enables launching games from the Steam library on PlayStation 5. The technology runs locally on the console's hardware, without using cloud services. As a demonstration, the game Portal was successfully launched.

Other well-known games built on the Source engine are listed among potentially compatible titles. However, the implementation has significant limitations. The tool requires a hacked PS5, and the project itself is at an early stage of development.

At the moment, far from the entire game catalog is supported, and online interaction features do not work. Despite the technical nuances, running third-party software on the console's closed ecosystem demonstrates the device's modification potential.
